Comments in Legatics allow users to communicate and provide context within a list, ensuring smoother collaboration and better decision-making. Whether you're leaving notes, requesting updates, or providing clarification, comments are an essential tool for effective teamwork.
This guide explains how to leave, edit, and delete comments to keep your lists clear and up-to-date.

Leaving comments
Prerequisites: You need the:
add comment permission to leave a comment
the change permissions to set permissions when leaving the comment
Find the row you want to add a comment to
Hover over the comment cell and click the add comment button that appears
Type your message in the text box that appears
Click permissions to restrict who can view the comment
Press Enter or click Save to finalize the comment
Your comment will be time-stamped and include your name and organisation for context
Caution: If you scroll away from the comment before saving, your changes will be lost
Editing comments
Prerequisites: You need the edit all or edit own permission in the column
Find the comment you want to edit
Hover over the comment and click the pencil icon or double-click the comment to start editing
Update the text as needed
Press Enter or click outside to confirm the update
Deleting comments
Find the comment you want to delete
Hover over the comment and click the bin icon
Confirm deletion in the pop-up by pressing Delete comment
Warning: Deleted comments cannot be recovered. Ensure you no longer need the information before deleting.
Updating comment permissions
Prerequisites: You need the edit all or edit own permission in the column
Find the comment you want to update
Hover over the comment and click the padlock icon
Update permissions in the pop-up and press Save
