Integrate with NetDocuments

Learn how to securely connect your NetDocuments repository to streamline document management processes

Updated this week

Integrating NetDocuments with Legatics facilitates seamless document management by allowing direct access to your NetDocuments repository from within the Legatics platform. This integration enhances efficiency and maintains security protocols. This guide provides a step-by-step approach to setting up and configuring the NetDocuments integration.

Tip: To understand how the integration works for users, read this article

Overview

Using NetDocuments’s REST API, a direct connection is created from Legatics to your NetDocuments repository.

Note: If you have multiple repositories (in different NetDocuments services), you'll need to connect to each service separately.

Connecting NetDocuments to Legatics

  1. In the Admin System, go to Integrations > NetDocuments

  2. Click on the service where your repository is stored

  3. Press the toggle in the top right of the page

Your repository is now connected

Caution: Before you do this, you may want to make configurations (see below)

Configuring a NetDocuments repository

Restricting access to specific Members

You can restrict what Members can use each NetDocuments repository. To do this:

  1. Click on the NetDocuments repository you want to edit

  2. Toggle Restrict to specific members

  3. Search for the Members you want to restrict the repository to (you can search by user name or email) and press on the Member.

  4. Repeat this for any additional Members

  5. Press Save to apply your changes

Caution: We only recommend using this feature when you're testing that the integration is working as expected

Enabling the repository

Once you're happy with how the repository is set up, you need to make it available to users. To do this press the toggle at the top right of the repository page. This will make the repository visible to your users.

Disabling the repository

To disable a repository, find the repository you want to disable and press the disable toggle in the top right of the repository screen.

When you disable a repository, users won't be able to push/pull documents from it. But the links to documents in NetDocuments are retained. So if you re-enable the integration, the user will see those links again.
