Address performance issues, including slow loading times or unresponsive pages, and get tips for improving platform performance

Updated over a week ago

Smooth platform performance is essential for an efficient workflow in Legatics. If you experience slow loading times, misaligned elements, or other performance issues, this section provides practical solutions to optimize your experience and ensure the platform runs smoothly.

Documents not uploading

Invalid file types

If your documents aren't loading, check that the file types and size of the file you're uploading are valid.

Invalid MIME types

If the file type is valid, it's likely an issue with it's MIME type. MIME’s are standardized way to indicate the nature and format of a file or data being transferred over the internet. It tells a system or application what kind of content it is dealing with, so the system can properly handle or display the file (eg if someone changes a file name from .docx to .pdf, the MIME will make sure it’s opens as .docx).

To protect against potential security risks like malicious file uploads, we block files that aren't clearly identified by their expected MIME type.

The quickest way to resolve MIME issues is to save them as new files. When the file is saved again, the MIME is generally changed to the expected MIME type. When you do this, make sure you’re saving the file as the latest file type available (eg docx, not doc).

We can't advise the MIME type of the files you're uploading

Browser extensions

Browser extensions can sometimes interfere with the functionality of our platform by blocking scripts, altering page elements, or impacting performance. Common culprits include ad blockers, privacy extensions, and script managers.

To determine if an extension is causing an issue, try accessing the platform in Incognito Mode or Private Browsing with extensions disabled. If the issue resolves, one or more extensions may be the cause.

To fix this, disable extensions one by one in your browser settings, refreshing the platform after each change to identify the problematic extension. Once identified, consider whitelisting our platform in the extension’s settings or using a different browser profile for uninterrupted access.
