Restrict who can check checkboxes

After setting up a checkbox column in a list for approvals, you can update who can view or update the checkboxes. The steps below explain how to amend these permissions.


How to amend approval permissions

1. Click on the cog icon for the relevant checkbox column.

2. Select 'permissions' from the dropdown.


3. Select or deselect checkboxes under the 'view' or 'edit' columns then to save the changes press 'save'.

View

The 'view' permission allows participants to view the checkboxes column.

⚠️ Any user with "edit" permissions on the list will be able to view the column.

Edit

The 'Edit' permission allows you to set which participants can select or deselect the checkboxes, hide or unhide checkboxes or dismiss warnings.

⚠️ Please note: By default, all participants will be able to view checkbox columns when they are added to a list, however, only the approving participants will be able to update the checkboxes.
