Updated over a year ago

This interim release focuses on technical improvements and addressing bugs to improve the overall stability and performance of the software. This work is important, as it lays the foundation for future enhancements and ensures a better experience for users. Even with all of this work, the team has found time to include a few new exciting features!

Read on to learn more about it!

In this release

👉 Multi-select rows using the shift key

You can now select multiple rows by simply holding down the shift key. This will help to streamline workflows and improve user experience by enabling faster and more intuitive selection of data.

With this addition, users can quickly and easily choose multiple rows and perform batch operations, such as

  • reordering lists

  • making bulk edits (eg status update)

  • export your selections to a Word document

  • export the documents in your selection

🔭 Clarity when creating demo/live matters

Our demo matters are a great way to explore Legatics' features, functionality, and capabilities. They can really help lawyers understand how Legatics can transform their transactions.

We wanted to make it super clear that we have this functionality. So we've:

  • put it to the top of the matter creation screen; and

  • require users to actively select between demo and live matters.

All demo matters must now have the words "DEMO" in the matter name

Now

Before

⚙️ “Consent required” checkbox is optional

This checkbox appears when matters are created.

It used to be compulsory for every matter

Now it can be removed, so it doesn't appear when users are creating matters

💡 To boost adoption, we recommend that this checkbox is turned off. Contact support@legatics.com to action this.

💻 Technical improvements

Our team has worked tirelessly to identify and address underlying technical issues, streamline workflows, and enhance system performance.

Through these improvements, we have not only reduced technical debt, but also created a more stable and reliable product. These updates also lay the foundation for future development, empowering us to build upon a stronger and more efficient codebase.

We're confident that these improvements will have a significant impact on our users' experience, enabling them to enjoy a more seamless and enjoyable experience when using our software.

Update to DocuSign integration

Our DocuSign integration used the XML/SIM method for data format and delivery.

DocuSign is ending support for this method, so we've updated our integration to their recommend JSON/SIM configuration.

🐛 Bug fixes

We squashed a number of bugs in this release.

  • The "Save" button in matter settings was active, even if no changes had been made. It's now inactive until you make a change

  • You couldn't start from another list if you had a specific combination of columns

  • The "Status key" in the Word download included the statuses for status columns that weren't included in your download

  • The colour of rows in the Word download included colours from status columns that weren't included in your download

  • Statuses wouldn't automatically change if you rapidly ticked all the checkboxes

  • File actions would disappear for a brief second if you uploaded files from the sidebar

  • You used to get multiple warnings when changing the assignee for a checkbox column, you now just get one

  • Comments in Word downloads appeared oldest > newest, they now appear newest > oldest

  • The audit trail wasn't always rendering correctly for guest users if specific permissions were set

  • The assignee would get cleared from the status if you re-selected the same status (instead of changing the status)

  • The button in our "Create account" email wasn't clickable (just the text in the button was)

✏️ Text improvements

Words matter in law. And they matter in software.

We're always improving our text copy to make Legatics more intuitive. This release was the exception. Some key improvements were:

  • It's now clearer that you need to "Select a status" when creating automatic actions

  • The "Status key" in the Word download is now the "Status overview"

  • In "Manage participants", we've updated "last login" to "Last activity"

  • The default text for an organisation's description has been updated from "Click here to enter text" to "Click here to describe what an organisation does".

  • The notification that appears when you are downloading files or deleting matters has been shortened
