As a System Admin in Legatics, you have the authority to assign specific roles to users, tailoring their access to align with organizational requirements. This guide provides a step-by-step process for reviewing the roles and outlines best practices to ensure secure and efficient management.
Admins available
Legatics has the following Admin roles available.
System Admin | Allows a Member to access the administration system (excluding matter templates and list templates). |
Template Admin | Allows a Member to manage matter templates and list templates. |

Viewing Admins
We've got a dedicated page to help you work with each of these roles. To get there, simply go to Firm > Admin in the sidebar. You'll then see a page with 3 tabs, one for each of the Admins noted above.
Adding Admins
You can add a System Admin or a Template Admin from this page by following these steps:
Navigate to the tab for the role you want to assign:
In the top right corner of the screen, click Add System Admin or Add Template Admin (depending on the selected role)
In the pop-up window that appears:
Search for the Member you want to assign the role to
Click Add as Admin
Repeat the steps above to assign additional Members as needed

You can also do this work from the Members page
The user must refresh Legatics to see the new functionality
System Admins are notified by email when a new one is added.
Heads-up: You can't add Matter Admins from this page. To add a Matter Admin, follow these steps.
Removing Admins
You can remove System Admin, Template Admin or Matter Admin from this page by following these steps:
Navigate to the tab for the role you want to assign:
Find the user you want to remove and click the bin icon on the far right of their name
In the pop-up window that appears, confirm your action

When you remove a Matter Admin, you're deactivating them
System Admins are notified by email when one is removed
