Learn how System Admins can control Member permissions within Legatics

Updated over a week ago

As a System Admin in Legatics, you have the authority to assign specific permissions to users, tailoring their access to align with organizational requirements. This guide provides a step-by-step process for modifying user permissions and outlines best practices to ensure secure and efficient management.

Permissions available

You can grant the following permissions to Members.

System Admin

Allows the Member to access the administration system (excluding matter templates and list templates).

Template Admin

Allows the Member to manage matter templates and list templates.

Create matter

Allows the Member to create matters. Note: This permission can't be revoked from a Member.

Modifying user permissions

  1. Go to the users > members page

  2. Find the user whose permissions you want to modify

  3. Pres the dropdown in the Permission column next to the user's name

  4. Check or uncheck the boxes corresponding to Template Admin and System System to grant or revoke permissions.

The changes are saved automatically. The user might need to refresh Legatics to see new permissions.

Best practice

  • Regular Audits: Periodically review user permissions to ensure they align with current organizational needs and remove unnecessary permissions to reduce security risks.

  • Documentation: Maintain clear records of roles and associated permissions, detailing responsibilities and access levels for each role.

  • Utilize the Users Report: Leverage the Users Report to quickly view permissions granted to each member, facilitating efficient audits
