Why can't I view or access my matter?

Find solutions to issues preventing you from viewing or accessing your matters, including permissions and instance access

Updated over a month ago

If you've managed to log-in, but you can't view or access your matter, it's likely because of settings in the matter. This section outlines steps to troubleshoot and ensure seamless access to your matters.

Not invited to the matter

Legatics has a two-step invitation process. It's possible you've been added but not invited to the matter. Check this with the matter administrator of the matter.

Heads-up: Our support team can't add or invite you to matters

Matter hosted in a different instance

Legatics has multiple instances. Each instance is separate - matters and users aren't shared between instances. Make sure you've logged into the instance that hosts the matter. Check the email invitation you got, it will tell you were to go.

Matter is labelled as a demo matter

Look at the top of the my matters page, you'll see a live/demo button. It's possible your matter is labelled as a demo matter. Click the demo button to check if the matter is there.

Logging in with another account

Your user account is tied to your email. If your email has changed, you'll have a separate user account. Check that you're logging into the account that has access to the matter you want to access. If not, get the matter admin to grant your other user account access to the matter.
