Staying on top of your matters and account activity is easy with Legatics’ notification system. Through real-time in-app alerts and email updates, you have control over what notifications you receive, how often they arrive, and what information they include. This guide explains the different types of notifications available.
You've got complete control over what you're notified about, and how you receive notifications - including how often you receive them (or if you prefer not to receive them at all) and the specific content you’re notified about. Additionally, you can manage your preferences for receiving marketing emails from us.
Real-time updates directly within the platform. These notifications keep you informed about what’s happening in your matters and let you filter alerts by specific matters for easier tracking.
Good to know: When notifications are enabled, you'll receive both in-app and email alerts. It's not possible to select only one delivery method
Email notifications
Legatics keeps you informed with email updates about your matters, your account, and the Admin System.
Legatics can send you two kinds of email notifications to keep you informed about changes in your matters.
Scheduled updates: You’ll receive an email for each matter you’re involved in, at a frequency you choose (at specific intervals - from 15 minutes up to 4 hours), containing updates triggered by specific activity you select.
Daily digest: You'll receive an email summarising specified activity, from across all your matters, in the last 24 hours.
These emails provide important updates regarding your Legatics account, such as password resets, account creation, and login security. These notifications help you manage your account securely and efficiently.
These emails provide System Admins updates on what's happening in their Legatics environment, such as when a matter is created or deleted.
Interaction of permissions with notifications
Notifications respect the platform’s permission hierarchy. You’ll only be notified about updates to content you have permission to view.
This means that if you don’t have access to the data itself (e.g. a file) or to the item containing that data (e.g. a row, column, or list), you won’t receive notifications about changes to it - even if the update matches one of your selected notification types.
Examples:
You can't view a list, you won't get notified about anything that happens in that list
You can view a list, but not a specific column inside the list. Any changes in that column won't trigger a notification
You can view a list, but a comment is added that you don't have permission to view. You won’t receive notifications about that comment.
