Adjusting your notification preferences

Take control of what updates you receive, and when

You can choose how you get notifications, what you get notified about, and how often you get notified. This puts you in control, and helps make sure you're being informed about what matters most to you.


Where to go to control your notifications

  1. Click on your name icon located at the top-right corner of the screen

  2. From the dropdown menu, select My account

  3. Scroll down to the Notifications section

Good to know: Legatics operates multiple instances, each requiring its own account. Data is not shared between instances, so you may need to make these changes in multiple places.


Matter notifications

Notification delivery

You can get notified about updates to your matters in two ways:

Turning notifications on and off

Use the “Send me notifications about matter updates” toggle to turn notifications on or off. When toggled on, you’ll receive in-app and email matter notifications based on your selected preferences. When toggled off, you won’t receive any matter notifications

Selecting email type and frequency

Once matter notifications are turned on, you can choose how you'd like to receive email updates. You can choose to get:

  • scheduled updates; or

  • daily digest

To select an email type and frequency:

  1. Under the How should we send email notifications section, choose your preferred email type

  2. In the Frequency dropdown select how often you want emails sent (for scheduled updates) or when you want emails sent (daily digest)

Heads-up: You can't get both email types, you need to choose one

Email frequency

Fixed intervals (15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, or 4 hours) based on the clock time (not from when you first set the frequency).

For example, if you choose hourly updates at 11:59, you would get an email at 12:00.

Once per day (at your chosen time, which is based on your timezone setting)

Grouping

Separate email for each matter

One email summarizing all matters

When it sends

After updates occur within the selected frequency window

Once every 24 hours

Best for

Staying on top of updates as they happen

Getting a single overview of all recent activity

Volume of emails

Higher (one per matter per time window)

Selecting actions that trigger notifications

You can choose which types of activity you want to be notified about for both in-app and email notifications. To control this, simply turn notifications on or off for each action.

Only triggered if the status in the row isn't in the status group Done. Notifications start 3 days before the due date

Only triggered if the status in the row isn't in the status group "Done". Overdue tasks won't appear in summary emails.

Not triggered for comments you left


Legatics notifications

You can also manage whether you receive occasional emails from Legatics about:

  • New features and product improvements

  • Platform tips and best practices

  • Company news and announcements

To update these preferences:

  1. Go to your notification settings.

  2. Scroll to the Email updates about Legatics section

  3. Use the toggle to turn these emails on or off.
