Marking documents for signing

Learn how to designate documents for signing within Legatics, enabling efficient management of parties, signatories, and the signing process

Updated this week

Marking documents for signing is the initial step in preparing them for execution. This action adds the selected documents in your list to a dedicated "signing" view, an intelligent checklist that facilitates the addition of parties and signatories and streamlines the signing process.

Prerequisites: You're a Matter Admin or have the edit signing list permission for the specific list

Marking documents for signing

  1. Go the list where your document is located

  2. Hover over the document to be signed and either:

    1. click on the swiggly icon; or

    2. press the three dots icon and select Mark for signing in the menu that appears

Your document will now appear in the signing view

Note: The entire document (not the specific version) gets marked for signing. So uploading new versions keeps the document in the signing view.

Removing documents from the signing view

If your document is marked for signing, there may be times when you need to unmark it as a document being signed. To do this:

  1. Go the list where the document is located

  2. Find the file you want to remove

  3. Press the three dots icon and select Open in signing view in the menu that appears

  4. Press the actions button on the document

  5. Select remove from signing view

Note: You can only remove documents with a signing status of Not sent
